Last updated: September 2026.
After five long years without a new A Court of Thorns and Roses book, the wait is almost over. If you share a home with an ACOTAR fan, you've probably already heard about it (repeatedly). Here's everything we know about the next books — and how to turn release day into a gift she'll never forget.
ACOTAR book 6 release date
ACOTAR book 6, A Court of Splintered Harmony, releases on October 27, 2026.
Sarah J. Maas announced the news in March 2026 on the Call Her Daddy podcast, explaining that the story she was writing grew so long it needed to be split across multiple books. It's the first new ACOTAR novel since A Court of Silver Flames in 2021.
ACOTAR book 7 and book 8
- Book 7: releases January 12, 2027 — less than three months after book 6.
- Book 8: confirmed, but not yet written and without a release date.
Translation: two new ACOTAR books within three months. Your ACOTAR girl is about to be very, very busy.
What about the ACOTAR TV show?
The previously planned Hulu adaptation is reported to no longer be moving forward, with Maas having regained the rights. There's no new TV deal announced yet — we'll update this page if that changes.
ACOTAR release-day gift ideas for your wife or girlfriend
Release day falls four days before Halloween, which makes late October the perfect time for a little "welcome back to Prythian" surprise. Here's how to do it properly.
1. ACOTAR-inspired press-on nails (our #1 pick)
She's going to post her copy. She's going to post herself reading it. She's going to post the page that destroyed her. Her hands are in every photo — so give her nails worthy of the moment. Our BookTok collection is handmade and reusable for 20+ wears:
- Thorns & Roses — burgundy thorns and blush petals on matte black. The quintessential ACOTAR set.
- Sun or Stars? — gold versus midnight silver, for the reader who's already picked a side.
- The Bond — a delicate bronze chain motif, for anyone who lives for a fated connection. (Extra sweet if it's from her partner.)
Sizing tip: every set comes in sizes XS–L and 15 shape and length options. Her thumb width decides her size — round up if she's between sizes. Sets are handmade, so we can't offer size exchanges; check our Size Guide first.
2. The book itself — pre-ordered
Pre-order A Court of Splintered Harmony in the format she loves (hardcover, special edition, ebook or audiobook). Wrap it with her nails for a release-day box. Want to go further? Pre-order book 7 too and gift the receipt as a "see you in January" promise.
3. A reading-day voucher
Honestly, the best gift might be time. Write her a voucher for a full, uninterrupted reading day: you handle chores, dinner, kids and pets. Snacks delivered on request.
4. A release-day reading nest
A new blanket, a bookish candle, a reading light and her favorite drink ready to go. Add fairy lights for a Starfall atmosphere.
5. A reread kit
Lots of fans will reread the first five books before book 6. An annotation kit (sticky tabs, highlighters, transparent notes) makes the reread even more fun.
6. Midnight release or bookstore event
Check local bookstores for release events and book-club meetups. Going with her (and not complaining) counts as a gift.
Release-day gift box checklist
- ☐ A copy of book 6
- ☐ ACOTAR-inspired nails
- ☐ A bookish candle
- ☐ Sticky tabs + highlighters
- ☐ Her favorite snacks and a handwritten note
Order early: sets are handmade and processed in 48–72 hours, then standard shipping takes 5–10 days (Priority is 4–9 days). For nails in hand by October 27, order by mid-October.
